4S Ranch

4S Ranch is a newer, but thriving community in San Diego. It was recreational and farming land for the Ralphs Family until 1987. Development began in the early 2000s, starting with a business park and then housing. Many pet friendly restaurants and stores, everything within walking distance, and all the dog friendly community events—who wouldn’t want to live here, much less “work” here? By work I mean play: The JenLovesPets team loves caring for the 4S Ranch pets!

One of our favorite meeting places (dog friendly of course) is Karl Strauss Brewing Company. The food is amazing and the pups love the atmosphere. Nothing like a little IPA with the furbabies and your feet.
You’ll of course find a Kahoots; It is located on 4S Commons Dr—the biggest pet store in the area within walking distance of almost every home. Whether you need aquarium or cat supplies, supplements or pet food, they got you!

Many of our clients use VCA 4 Paws Animal Hospital for veterinary care. They’re located near Club Pilates on Camino Del Norte and Dove Canyon. If you’ve just moved to 4S Ranch fear not; you’ve found your new vet.
You can’t talk about the best pet friendly communities of San Diego without mentioning their dog parks and 4S Ranch has an amazing one.

4 Gee County Park has a spot for all the kiddos, two and four-legged. And if you go a little north you’ll find a secret dog (and cat) friendly trail called Turtle Head. This walk/hike is absolutely gorgeous and a must do with your fur babies.
